Course CDE Survey »
Traditional methods of designing and creating restorations have been replaced by digital processes and are forever changed. Multiple technologies have contributed to this trend. In addition to CBCT imaging, Intra-oral & laboratory scanning, newer open software platforms for digital guide & restoration design allow for local CADCAM production. Also cost effective milling and printing capabilities have accelerated this trend. Simultaneously, restorative materials have been introduced that have improved strength and esthetic qualities. Integration of these capabilities create opportunities for enhanced restorative performance, decreased costs, and improved practice efficiency. This presentation will focus on elements of the digital workflow including, digital treatment planning using multiple datasets, linked digital workflows, guided implant surgery. Also CAD/CAM abutment and restorative design will be presented in the context of new possibilities for efficient and predictable esthetic restorative outcomes.
