Cláudio Julio Lopes received his dental degree from UNICID School of Dentistry in Sáo Paulo, in 1989, and has obtained his specialty training in Periodontics in 1992, and has worked in private practice since. He is currently the coordinator of Periodontal Plastic Surgery and Introduction to Periodontal Microsurgery Program at Sáo Paulo Dental Association. Besides the private practice, his activities concentrate on teaching microsurgery principles for Implants, Endodontics and Periodontics.
Microsuturing is one of the most important steps in periodontal and peri-implant microsurgery. Therefore, it is necessary for the surgeon to undergo an extensive training in order to improve his motor skills by working with both hands under the microscope. In this Hands-On activity, attendees will have the opportunity to practice "Micro-Suture Geometry" in all its richness of details: angle of entry, bite size, direction of needle passing, lack of tension, symmetry and frequency. It will be a great opportunity to work with maximum precision under magnification.
